The following recipe is a balanced meal that contains all the right nutrients, vitamins and minerals to improve your skin in many ways.
Tofu Skin Salad
Some studies have suggested that tofu may have potential benefits for the skin, including reducing inflammation and promoting collagen production.
One reason tofu may be good for the skin is because it contains isoflavones, which are plant compounds with antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can cause damage to cells and contribute to the ageing process.
Tofu is also a good source of protein, which is an important component of healthy skin. Protein helps to build and repair tissues, including the skin. In addition, tofu is a good source of iron, which is necessary for the production of collagen, a protein that helps to keep skin looking smooth and youthful.
Finally, tofu is low in saturated fat and cholesterol, making it a healthy choice for overall health and skin health.
1 package firm tofu, well pressed
1 tablespoon tamari soy sauce
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons canola oil
3 tablespoons of crunchy almonds
1 cup of fresh green grapes
1 tablespoon of dried herbs
1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise (homemade or store bought)
Juice of 1 lemon or lime (optional)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
How to Make it
1. Slice firm tofu into cubes, then place it between two paper towels. Squeeze out as much of the liquid as possible for about 10 minutes, until the tofu is firm and dry. This step is important because it helps to absorb flavor from other ingredients.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together tamari and vegan mayonnaise and set aside.
3. Your pan should be about medium-high heat with enough canola oil to coat the bottom without having too much in there. Once your pan is heated up add your cubes of tofu with plenty of salt and pepper (don’t be shy with the seasoning) cook until browned on all sides then turn off the stove.
4. Add in your almonds and green grapes, followed by some fresh or dried herbs of your choice, such as basil or oregano. Don’t forget a dash of olive oil.
5. Mash up the almonds until they’re broken up into small pieces, then mash up the tofu after it’s rested for another minute or two (you can also just chop it). Fold all ingredients together until everything is well mixed so that you have an evenly seasoned dish!
The next time you plan your lunch or dinner, add some of these recipes in order to increase nutrient intake to boost the immune system and achieve glowing skin naturally.
Superfood salad recipes are a great way to incorporate more vegetables into your diet, which can lead to clearer skin, more energy, and a better mood. Superfood salads are an excellent way to get all the nutrients our body needs without spending too much time cooking or preparing meals from scratch. You also can use a different type of protein like chicken, tuna or salmon to make this dish more nutritious.
